Wedding Illustration

Live Guest Illustration
Illustrating guests live for 4-10 hours. Either full day (7-10 hours) or half day (4-6), only charging for the hours I draw. Can be done throughout the day or evening. Each drawing is beautifully unique, capturing their likeness, outfit details, and the atmosphere. Guests will then take these illustrations home as a lovely momento of the occasion. Check below for my Frequently asked Questions, or email me to enquire. Drawn from photos so guests can enjoy the day and pick up their wedding favour later.
Bride and Groom plus Guests
Within the day I will illustrate the lovely couple. I find this is best from a photograph so I would most likely come to the official photos after the ceremony and capture the photo there.
If you would prefer me not to draw the couple during the day as you woudl rather choose from your official photos I will happily draw you both after the wedding free of charge (maximum 4 people) and send this back to you.
Of course maybe you would rather I just draw you both, I also do commissions and happy to draw the couple, maybe for your paper anniversary, just enquire with what you are thinking. Can be half body, full body, and with or without a background.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does a Wedding Illustrator work? Throughout the day I will be set up either at one desk or multiple depending on if the venue changes throughout. I will draw the guests either live or from specifically requested photographs taking approximately 7-10 minutes per solo illustration or 12 minutes for couples. This service works particularly well during the pre dinner, and the drinks reception. I am capable to work either live or from photos, allowing me to provide you the most value possible in the hired time, without drawing guests away from the other festivities.
How many hours should I book? I take approximately 7-10 minutes per solo illustration depending on how detailed the outfit is. Couples take about 12 to 15 minutes. I can draw approximately 6 solos or 4/5 couples an hour. I recommend 4 hours for weddings with 40 guests, 6 hours for weddings of 60 guests, 8 hours for 80 guests, and 10 hours for weddings with 100+ guests. Not everyone may wish to be drawn, however I would use the number of guests expected as a useful guide. I can also create specific tokens for your main guests or family, to ensure those people are definitely drawn during the time. If on the day more people wish to be drawn outside of the booked time I am happy to work additional hours or take photos to be drawn and sent to you at a later date at a cheaper rate of £100 an hour, this way everyone can be drawn and have a wedding favour to remember your special day.
How much does a Wedding Illustrator cost? I charge £200 an hour starting at 4 hours and illustrating up to 10 hours a day. Therefore 4 hours would cost you £800 (drawing between 20-30), 6 hours at £1200 (drawing between 30-45), 8 hours at £1600 (drawing between 40-60) and 10 hours being £2000 perfect for large weddings (drawing between 50-75 guests). If on the day I overrun I do not charge for the first 30 minutes, after however I charge hourly. I would ask whenever booked me if this is okay to go into overtime and then the hour would start after the 30 minute period. Another option would be I take pictures of the last guests that wish to be drawn and illustrate them at home normally within a week after the wedding. This would be done at £100 an hour as it’s not drawn live. this way every guest can be drawn.
My wedding is abroad: are you able to travel? I love to travel! I am a holder of a Finnish and UK passport so I am able to travel and work within the EU very easily. I have worked all over the UK as well as the Middle East in Kuwait and Qatar for various events. All accommodation and travel would need to be covered, but all can be discussed after your first enquiry.
What would be required for the day? Just a table and chair! This can either be a temporary table or one incorporated into the venue. Guests can stand to be drawn and I don't require them to stay still whilst drawn, however if you have any older guests it may be worth having a chair for people to sit on as they are drawn. I will also need the table to be in decent lighting. If you know the venue will be dark, I can bring a light - I would just need prior knowledge and a plug socket. I can also draw outside, I just cannot draw in the rain so a possible raincover may be worth having just in case.
